UPDATE Murdock is a 5-6 year old who was found as a stray last year. He needs to warm up to you before he feels comfortable. He loves going on walks. Murdock would need to be the only pet in the home, even though he came in with his brother. A home without children would be best

STAR

Hi! My name is Star ⭐️, and I have a very important question. Do you happen to have room on your couch? Because if you do, I’d like to claim approximately 97% of it. And your lap. And your heart.

I’m about a year old, and people think I’m a Pit Bull/Chocolate Lab mix. Personally, I think I’m the perfect mix of goofy, cuddly, and adorable. I have lots of energy, so I love being outside, exploring, and if you have a hammock? Oh, we’ll be best friends. But once I’ve gotten my zoomies out, I’m happiest curled up right next to my favorite person. They call me a “Velcro dog,” but I just think personal space is overrated.
When I meet new people, I can be a little shy. But if you happen to have a tasty treat, we’ll probably become besties in no time. I just like to make sure you’re one of the good ones before I hand over my whole heart, which, fair warning, happens pretty quickly.
I’m great with kids, and while the cat can make me a little anxious sometimes, I don’t usually chase him. We try to agree to respectfully mind each other’s business.
I’m crate trained, potty trained (I do appreciate a friendly reminder when it’s time to head outside), and I already know how to sit! I’m also working really hard on learning “shake.” I’m a smart girl, I just need someone who’s patient and willing to help me keep learning!
I should probably confess something. If you leave me unsupervised for too long, there’s a decent chance I’ll investigate the garbage can or decide your couch pillows look like they need a little remodeling. I’m young, curious, and I occasionally make questionable life choices. But I promise I’m worth it! 
More than anything, I’m looking for a family who will love me as much as I’m ready to love them. Give me a little consistency, a little patience, and a whole lot of unconditional love, and I’ll spend every day reminding you that choosing me was the best decision you ever made.

Dog Adoption Application

ROSCOE

Southern Tier Animal Control recently picked up four dumped dogs who were extremely scared and had no idea why someone would dispose of them just like that. They have spent the last week in the shelter decompressing. Their personalities have blossomed, their tails are wagging more, and the scared dogs we first met have transformed right before our eyes. They’re playful, affectionate and finally getting the chance to just be dogs.

All four are officially ready for adoption (or foster to adopt) and are waiting for the people who will show them that they never have to feel abandoned again. 
Roscoe is one of the 4 he available to be fostered to adopted as he still has to be neutered. He has a lot of energy in his kennel. We’re still teaching him to walk on a leash and that it is safe. He is younger and would benefit from obedience training for sure – but he is a lovebug. Look at that fun face!!

Dog Adoption Application

HANK
Hank just arrived at the shelter and is officially available for “Foster to Adopt”! Hank is a handsome Chocolate Lab who will be 2 years old in November. Sadly, in his short life, he has already been passed from home to home and has never really had the chance to experience consistency and stability. We’re hoping his next stop will finally be his last. ❤️
Hank is good with older kids and other dogs, although he can be dominant with other dogs to try to mate since he’s not neutered yet. We are unsure how he does with cats. He is a very fast learner and is already working on his leash skills and doing great! We haven’t noticed any resource guarding or food aggression. With his young age, he has a lot of energy. 
More than anything, Hank would benefit from something he hasn’t had much of in his life — consistency. He is still young and has so much potential with someone willing to give him a chance he deserves. To meet Hank, please visit

Calvin’s motto is “Happy to be Here”! He is the happiest dog you will meet and is now available for adoption!
We believe he is around 1-2 years old as he is a younger, energetic boy. He seems dog friendly as he enjoys playing with his kennel neighbor. We have not officially cat tested him yet. He loves to go on adventures, very quiet in his kennel and loves to just be around people.
