UPDATE Murdock is a 5-6 year old who was found as a stray last year. He needs to warm up to you before he feels comfortable. He loves going on walks. Murdock would need to be the only pet in the home, even though he came in with his brother. A home without children would be best

UPDATE Stiles is a handsome boy estimated age between 5-6 years old. He’s been waiting for a home for almost a year now. No cats or small children would be the best home for him.

Stiles was found in the Town of Caton along with his brother, Murdock. He’s a loving boy who, like his sibling, needs some obedience work.

TYSON

Tyson soaked up the sunshine on his adventure walk today, and even had a little photo shoot along the way! 📸 The more time we spend with him, the more he captures all of our hearts.

Ready as ever to find his forever home, this is what we have learned about him so far: 
 🐾He is FULL of sweetness and it’s impossible not to be happy around him
 🐾He will give you a big frown if you do not give him enough attention – but sits patiently waiting for it!
 🐾He loves to be around people and gives the best kisses
🐾 Treats are the key to his heart

Wade is a 6 month old bundle of joy and is now available for adoption! The staff and volunteers have been working with him on his leash manners and showing him what it feels like to be loved. He loves getting to play outside with his sister (who is pending adoption) and taking naps with her
We are now thinking Wade needs to be and only dog.

 

Ruger 🤎

Ruger recently arrived at the shelter and immediately stole our hearts and is now ready for a home! He is around 4-5 years. He is super sweet and has a goofy side to him too. As a coonhound, he sure loves to sing to you 🎼 Ruger is great with cats, dogs AND kids!!

ATLAS

Atlas just arrived at the shelter and is now available to adopt! He is around 3 years old and A husky/lab mix. He is an extremely well mannered dog and when he is in his kennel, he just sits and people watches very quietly. Cuddles and being around people are his favorite thing to do. We have not dog or cat tested him yet.

MOLLY

This loving girl just arrived to the shelter. She is approximately 2-3 years old. She is very food motivated, incredibly sweet and she’s already showing us what a loving companion she could be as she loves to stick to your side. While working with her, we did notice she can be a bit shy at first, but warms up quickly. In her eyes, she is also in a new place with new faces and she has no idea why her world just drastically changed. 
Since she has just arrived, we have not dog or cat tested her yet and will be doing so soon. More updates to come!

KAI

Kai is a stunning husky who just arrived at our shelter. We believe he is around 4 years old and has a big personality. As a husky, he’s got a lot to say and isn’t shy about sharing it through singing.
He will need an experienced owner who understands the breed’s intelligence and energy. Since he just arrived, he has not been dog or cat tested yet and will be doing so soon. Stay tuned for updates!

TOFU

This is a Tofu appreciation post! Allow us to introduce you to one of Southern Tier Animal Control ‘s newest tenants: Tofu. She’s never met a human she didn’t love. She’d be best as an only pet because she’ll need all of your love.❤️🐾 Let’s get Tofu into her forever home and out of the loud shelter this spring.

NOAH
Noah found his way to us after his owner passed away at the beginning of April 2026. He is trying to adjust to shelter life which can be overwhelming. That being said, we are desperately searching for a foster or forever family for Noah to relax and adapt into. We believe he is a mix of a chihuahua and dachshund and around 5 years old. Once he is feeling comfortable in his surroundings, he is curious and energetic. He loves bird watching (as seen in the last photo) and as soon as you sit down, he’s by your side ready to cuddle and be a lap dog. Noah is still working on his potty training skills and it doesn’t appear he was crate trained. We think he’d do best as an only companion to someone in his future home as he does not know how he feels about dogs, cats or kids.

BISCUIT AND TOBY

Double the dogs, double the love—Biscuit and Toby are the duo you didn’t know you needed! Biscuit is 10 years old and Toby is 8 years old. They both absolutely love attention. Toby really loves cuddles and he would be the perfect lap dog for you. Biscuit loves to sit and spend his time people watching or napping. We would really prefer that they be adopted together. They are currently being housed with their brother, Cooper, who is also available for adoption!

FRANK THE TANK

This short and stocky fella is ready to find his forever home! He is around 2 years old. He absolutely loves people and would like to have a big comfy couch to nap on, as that is his favorite hobby. Loud noises do startle him. Frank is more on the mellow and calm side instead of wanting to be energetic and active so he is a great companion to relax with. He seems to be fine being left alone and in a crate. Since he still needs to be neutered, he is available for a “foster to adopt” with the adoption becoming official once neutered. He seems to like other dogs and we have not cat tested him yet, but will be doing that soon. 
Frank has so much love to give and truly loves being around people and sleeping next to you.

DAHLIA

Dahlia is an absolute bundle of joy and shes ready to go to her forever home! She was picked up last month as a stray. She is around 3 months. All she wants to do is be around people, play with her toys and run around outside in the grass. She also loves to play with any dog she can get near and seems to be fine with cats too! She is available to “foster to adopt” and once she is spayed, the adoption will be finalized.

MEADOW

Meadow is ready to leave shelter life behind and find the forever home she’s been waiting for. She is around 3–4 years old. She may be a little shy at first but give her a little time and you’ll see just how sweet and loving she truly is. A cozy spot on the couch, a ball to play with, and long walks are her absolute favorite. The best part? She is dog and cat friendly! 
Meadow would thrive in a patient, loving home that will give her the time she needs to feel safe and secure. Once she does, she’ll reward you with companionship and a lot of cuddles. She’s been waiting in the shelter since January 2026 and we know her perfect match is out there.
